Edit: Chris_B and I posted at the same time... but I'm still leaving this as it contains my personal experience too :)   Good Morning and Welcome!   The Acer® easystore H340 Home Server is it's own separate "computer". It is installed with the Windows Homer Server Operating System. You can store backups and files on this system but it must be accessed over a network and not through USB.   You can find the user documents for the Acer® easystore H340 Home Server HERE :) Check out the user manual to see how to access and use the Home Server.   I personally have an HP Home Server and it's one of the best things I've ever purchased. All my computers are automatically backed up each night so I never have to worry about data loss. My fiancee and I also store all our music on our Home Server so we can both access it through our own iTunes for our iPods. Another wicked thing is that you can set up access to the server over the internet. That means you can go to a friends house, type in a custom web address for your server, and access all your shared files right over the internet.   Cheers, M

Your motherboard can handle up to 8GB of RAM(4x2GB), and I would recommend installing RAM in pairs for better performance.  So if you wanted to have 6GB, I'd suggest having 2x2GB and 2x1GB in there, but you could use 3x2GB and it would work, it just would be a bit slower than my suggested configuration.   As for your Video card and CPU fan, I'd suggest you replace one and see if the noise goes away before replacing the other.  Also, $100 for both a CPU fan and a new video card is a rather tight budget.  Especially considering that your power supply isn't powerful enough to run any of the cards I see on our website.  So you'll have to find an ultra low power card for your machine, or upgrade your PSU as well, which is definitely going over $100. What I would recommend on a tight budget is that you get a small upgrade in a PSU, such as the Dynex 400W , and combine that with a low end video card(that is still better than what you have now) such as the BFG Geforce 210 .  This combo does go over $100 already without a CPU fan replacement though.

Thanks for the great question.   I have done some research into this problem for you. I *believe* that this is a product that is allowed to be exchanged over the counter. Now please do NOT take this as definitive. But I am about 95% sure that if you can provide a copy of your receipt and the staff at future shop can verify that it indeed is defective, that you will be able to get it exchanged at the store level.   PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS AS GOSPE L, I cannot be sure. But it wouldn't hurt to take a trip into the store or a call to the customer service desk. IF they do authorize and exchange you will need to provide the accessories that came with this unit.   I hope this information helps.

Need advice on replacing ACER AM5620 Video card, FAN, and RAM

Hi everyone! I bought my computer about year and half ago at futureshop, here is the model:     Computer:  ACER AM5620 E5301A )   Processor: Intel Core2 Duo Q6600 Processor @ 2.40GHz RAM:  3GB DDR2 Ram 333MHz  (I guess  3x1GB ) Graphics card:  NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT (256MB) Motherboard model : ACER G33T-AM System:  32 bit Vista-Home Hard Drive: 500GB hard drive Others: Multi DVD Burner     after using till now It become very noisy, I opened the computer case and found it really dusty,so i cleaned the fan and video card.. but the noise didn't go away,after a few test, i recognized the noise mainly from the video card, and after i tried many ways to slove it ...finally it drove me crazy! >.< i decided to replace the video card and the fan..  That noise almost got me a headache, espically when playing games. My budget is around 100$(including PC fan) for replacing video card, any good advice?     Another ques. is that if I want to upgrade my RAM to 6-8 GB(cuz I need to use VMWARE for a vitual machine running), what is the good way of doing it? go for 3x2 GB 667MHz ram? I know for sure it needs a 64-bit OS, but besides that, do I need change anything else for compatibility?(mother board?)   I appreciate someone could help me out..

Looking for a laptop w/ memory for music & good for gaming, approx $800…

Hi there! I'm looking for a laptop, preferably HP or Toshiba (because I have it in my head that those are the 'best') :)   I want to spend around $800 and be able to do some gaming, if I can get it for that price... games like GTA 4. Problem with new monitor

I have a problem with a new 18.5" Acer monitor that I just bought. I don't know how else to explain it except to type in a short enough block of text so that I can reproduce the quirk by changing the font colour to mimic the problem. So please ignore the short format and no spaces between paragraphs. I set up the monitor for 1366x780 resolution as recommended and found the text/font very small. I tried to up the size in Firefox but it still seemed quite tiny. What I did find though, was that across the screen from left to right, I had four or five vertical "waves" that would blur and darken a couple of letters at a time, in the same way you see the different coloured text in this post. I thought I was being smart and took screen shots, which I can't show you because they are private documents/sites, but it wouldn't help because when I went back to my old monitor and opened those files in PSP, there was no blurred or dark letters in the screen shots. This same problem appeared in FF, IE7, and on word documents. Am I safe in guessing that this is a problem in the new monitor?
